  • A set of hydrogeological maps of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District (scale 1:1 000 000) was compiled. In the meantime the hydrogeology, hydrochemistry and formation conditions of Mesozoic-Cenozoic ground waters of the West Siberian artesian basin and the adjacent mountain-folded structures of the Polar Urals were studied.

  • A hydrogeological map of the mountain-folded Urals  (within Yamal) was compiled.

  • The role and relations between the main factors influencing the formation of the chemical composition of underground waters of the Northern Trans-Urals were determined. The definition of two equal factors - natural and man-made were substantiated in these conditions.
  • For the analysis of man-made changes in natural waters of the northern part of the West Siberian Artesian Basin, a regional hydrochemical sampling of fresh water in the areas of intensive oil and gas production was performed, which allowed to identify the main dominant processes and their scope.
  • The territorial assessment of groundwater consumer properties of the central Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District was performed.
  • The geoinformation core of the regional ecological-economic model of groundwater objects control in the area of intensive oil and gas production was developed. The formation of the main part of the permanent model of Eocene-Quaternary hydrogeological complex of West Siberian artesian megabasin was completed. Parametric environment of the model kernel within the Nadym-Pur-Taz interfluve was calibrated.
  • The basic mechanisms of groundwater degradation in intensive anthropogenesis in areas of permafrost rocks (Polar Urals and Western Siberia) were defined.
  • The processes of physical and chemical supergene changes of copper production dump slag were simulated.
  • A full-scale long-term experiment on the application of copper slag material in the soil profile of podzolic soil was conducted.
  • The distribution and migration parameters of the toxic components in soil from the dumps were investigated.
  • Experiments on leaching copper slag in the presence of thiophile and silicophile bacteria were conducted; the obtained preliminary results showed an increase in migration activity of nonferrous metals, particularly zinc (together with Ural Federal University).
  • A long-term experiment to study the migratory activity of copper slag components in natural geoecological systems is conducted (together with the Botanical Garden, UB RAS).
  • The theoretical basis for the assessment of physical and chemical compatibility of industrial and household waste of oil and gas industry with Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoir brine aquifers was developed. The obtained conclusions allowed recommending wastewater disposal in deep horizons as the best way with minimal damage to the environment. Recommendations for this type of liquid waste disposal were presented in the form of conclusions for a number of specialized oil and gas enterprises ("Nadymgazprom", "Purneftegaz", etc.).
  • Numerous joint research projects (Ural State Mining University, Mining Institute, Department of Mineral Resources of the Volga Federal District) for hydrogeological investigations in underground water and solid mineral deposits of Polar Urals, Western Siberia and the Volga-Kama Artesian Basin were carried out.
